- Understand current research on social-emotional development with connections to brain plasticity and social and academic skills.
- Connect the foundations to effective strategies in the CA Preschool Curriculum Framework that build positive relationships and support the development of self-regulation skills. This includes:
-Making smooth transitions between activities
-Ways adults can help children learn to self-regulate
-Making a “calm down kit” to use with children in the classroom
