I would like to invite you to come play and let me share what I have learned over many years of working with children. Come explore tried and true activities. Experiment with new ideas that will enhance an environment of true learning fun. We will laugh, play and share experiences. We will even create an activity to take home. July 19 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Note you are signing up for: Part 1 on 7/19 and Part 2 on 7/26

Presented by Toni Robertson, Quality Improvement Facilitator

Let’s discover how the use of American Sign Language can redefine your child care program. Young babies 6-8 months old will have the opportunity to communicate their needs to you. Young children not yet speaking can sign what they want.

Even the older preschool and school-age children can benefit by learning another language. If you provide the platform for them to experience this beautiful language of the deaf community in your child care setting, true communication CAN begin in your program at a very young age. Over one hundred “SIGNS” will be taught at this workshop. Signs will include: Colors, animals, foods, things, activities, and more.

Benefits of Sign Language with Babies:

  • Allows two-way conversations
  • Reduces frustration from misunderstandings
  • Increases eye contact and concentration
  • Strengthens small muscle development
  • Aids in the bonding process
